I've been making tons of thank you cards lately; as the school year draws to a close, I always have lots of amazing people to thank - parent helpers, Special Ed Assistants, colleagues...the list goes on!

This card features some soon-to-be retired products; the greeting is from "A Little Somethin'" which is a level 2 hostess set, and of course, my beloved Baja Breeze. The embossing was done with a non-SU embossing folder, which I ran through my Big Shot. The little ribbon slide from the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware kit adds just the right touch of cuteness. I LOVE my Hodgepodge Hardware! The kits come with so many pieces, they offer a great value.

"Best Wishes & More" Class This Thursday!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! This is the card I made for my dear dad. I couldn't resist making another shutter card; they're so much fun and they show off the Manchester DSP beautifully. I used "Fun & Fast Notes" to stamp the image and greeting on the front of the card, and watercoloured the image with my Aquapainter. The "Cute & Curly" bundle came in handy once again for the inside of the card. Remember, this Manchester DSP and the "Cute & Curly" bundle will be gone after June 30!

Shutter Card

I made this shutter card for my hubby, who's celebrating his birthday today. Anyone who knows him knows that he's a big kid at heart, so I went with All in the Family to stamp the image on the front of the card. He loves soccer, so I added the ball, along with the party hat and balloons from the coordinating All in the Family Accessories set. If you look closely, you'll see that I made the grass "fringe" by cutting repeatedly into the top of the Certainly Celery piece with my paper snips. The "Best Wishes" greeting inside the card is from the Cute & Curly bundle; if you've been thinking about getting this bundle, act NOW because it's on the Last Chance List which means that it'll be gone after June 30! This shutter card was really fun to make! It uses a 5 1/2 x 12'' piece of cardstock and fits in a regular envelope; I found a video tutorial on it here at Dawn Griffiths' site.

Goodbye, 2008-09 In Colours!

I wanted to play around more with my Best Wishes & More set, and saw this card over at Splitcoaststampers. I loved the cheery look of the collage of flowers in all those In Colours, and decided to try it for myself. I added the Styled Vanilla brad from the Hodgepodge Hardware set. I will definitely miss these colours, especially Baja Breeze, but let me tell you, I've had my sneak peek, and the new In Colours will be just as delightful!

A House is Not a Home Without Family...

...and in this case, this house card became a home with the help of "All in the Family." This card was so much fun! I wanted to make a housewarming card for our friends Elliot and Lina, who just moved into a townhome in a beautiful area of Vancouver with their baby girl, Isabel. I enlisted hubby's help for this one. This card is a direct case from the Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer Idea Book and Catalogue. We added our own twist by making the door open and putting the baby behind the door! I made a gift card holder inside with a strip of cardstock and a few punches. This stamp set makes it so easy and fun to personalize your projects to your recipients, or to your own family. I hope they like it!
